Introduction
Nepal is the youngest republic in the world. The people's movement in 2006 overthrew centuries Shah dynasty and declared Nepal as a Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
Location
Nepal is a land locked country nestled in the laps of mighty Himalayan range. Situated in the southern Asia, the Tibetan Autonomous Region of China in the north while India shares eastern,southern and western borders.
Language
Nepali is the national language of Nepal. However, in urban areas English is spoken quite well. and there are variety of indigenous languages spoken by all indigenous people.
Nestled in the laps of mighty Himalayan range, Nepal has a moderate climatic condition throughout the year.
Nepal is a secular state and it respects the practice and existence of all religion. The Nepalese people are mainly divided into two groups; Aryans and the mongoloids.
Currency and foreign exchange
All the Nepali banks note comes in Rupees 1,2,5,10,20,25,50,100,500 and 1000 denominations. Foreign currencies must be exchanged through banks or authorized money exchangers. Visitors can exchange foreign currency at th foreign exchanged counter at airport.
Nepal is mountainous country and the major portion of world famous Himalayan range lies in Nepal. Nepal is home to 8 of the world's above 8000 meter high mountains and many other smaller than this.
Culture and tradition
Nepal is country rich in ancient culture and tradition. Nepal is home to over 60 ethnic group and indigenous nationalities that have there distinct culture,tradition and lifestyle. Various temples, monasteries and places of religious significance are found everywhere in Nepal.
Nepal is a country of great topographical varieties. The altitude in the country varies from less than 70m above sea level Kechana kalan to the world's highest 8848m at the summit of Mt Everest.
